Paleo-friendly Blackberry Vodka Soda

Using a vodka made from fruit, honey or potatoes can make this delicious cocktail even more paleo-friendly.

  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 2 tbsp. blackberries plus more for garnish if desired
  • 8 oz. vodka
  • 24 oz. club soda or sparkling water
  • Lime wheel for garnish if desired


  • In a small saucepan combine maple syrup, water and blackberries. Bring a to boil; cook for 2-3 minutes or until berries are soften enough to crush. Remove from the heat and allow to steep for 20 minutes.
  • Drain mixture through a fine sieve and discard berries pieces. Chill completely.
  • To make a cocktail, fill a Collins glass with ice, add ½ ounce blackberry syrup, 2 ounces vodka and 6 ounces of club soda. Stir gently with a bar spoon to blend.
  • Refrigerate leftover syrup.
