Fusilloni gets its name from the fuso, or spindle, pasta makers once used to obtain the pasta's distinctive spiral shape. Today it is produced using a bronze die, which lends it a rough texture perfect for grabbing sauce.
Our special bronze dies extrude pasta to create a rough texture that allows sauce to grip firmly. Fusilloni originates in Campania, where there is a rich pasta making tradition. This spiral-shaped pasta is best paired with tomato-based sauce, fresh basil, and plenty of Parmesan cheese.
