Our euphorically edible tribute to guitarist Jerry Garcia fans everywhere, it’s the first ice cream named for a rock legend & the most famous of our family of fan-suggested flavors. Ben and Jerry started selling ice cream from a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont, in 1978, which (sorry, guys!), makes them officially old. But because we’re pretty darned fond of the two dudes who have contributed so much peace, love, and ice cream to the world for the past four decades, we think they just get better with age. The same could be said for Cherry Garcia; while this euphorically delicious tribute to guitarist Jerry Garcia has been around since 1986, it’s still one of our most popular flavors! That’s inspired a few riffs on the original; we’ve swapped out vanilla ice cream for cherry; then switched up vanilla for chocolate; it’s been made with frozen yogurt, GREEK frozen yogurt, molded into ice-cream bars, mini-cups, and quart tubs…and now it’s even available as a pint slice—no spoon required. Now that’s vintage perfection! Through all the slicing and dicing, we’ve kept one thing constant: our commitment to non-GMO ingredients and cage-free eggs. Cherry Garcia also features Fairtrade-certified sugar, cocoa, and vanilla, and is wrapped in responsibly sourced packaging, so you can feel good about what’s in your freezer.
