Dry Rubs to Spice your Seafood
Preparing seafood can be intimidating. Once you conquer the hard part of “hooking” the perfect fish, finding a good way to prepare it can be equally frustrating.
If you’re unfamiliar with fish, the finished product may leave you disappointed when your fish ends up bland and flavorless. We’d hate to see your dollars and dinner go to waste!
Making your seafood taste great doesn’t need to be difficult. In fact, you never want to over-season your fish. Less is more, as you still want to taste the great natural flavors of your fish.
One of our favorite ways to add spice is by using homemade dry rubs. Dry rubs add depth of flavor to your favorite seafood. By using a few Simple Truth® organic spices, you’ll create custom combinations that add bursts of flavor, whether you’re grilling, baking or pan-frying your fish.
The key is to use about 3 tablespoons of spice rub seasonings for every 2 pounds of fish. To apply, sprinkle it over your seafood and gently massage the spices over the surface. You could cook the seafood immediately or let the flavors marinate in the refrigerator overnight. You’ll be sinking your teeth into mouthwatering seafood in no time!
